The West Island
The West Island consists of cities, boroughs, and towns west of island of Montreal, Quebec. The region is composed of about a third of the area of Montreal. With a population over 230,000 people, the majority of the residents of the West Island are bilingual. The West Island is a diverse and multicultural region. It has a certain quality to it compared to the rest of the city of Montreal. It’s land is packed with nature parks, lakes, rivers, bike trails, golf courses, and cross country ski trails. A lot of their older buildings have historical meaning, adding value and character to its cities.
